"If today I can help one person hear better, my day was not lived in vain."

My name is Lori and I am originally from Lexington, NC where I was born and raised. I have three grown children named Conlee (my football star), Preston (never met an electronic he couldn't repair), and daughter Savannah (attending Appalachian State University for a degree in medicine). Since our children have grown and gone, we have found a love for travel in our travel trailer. We don't camp, we glamp.

My hopes of being a vessel for folks to have and maintain a quality of life, not just life without quality, was chosen for me by powers greater than myself. There is no career better than using my BS-HIS medical training to bring back the sound of birds chirping in the morning, children laughing or hearing "I love you mom (dad)" with clarity. We only get one little life, nobody gets a re-do, why not enjoy every possible moment with the simplest of joys, hearing.

Many studies show that when a person has a hearing loss their friends and family often avoid conversations of length due to the frustration of repeating themselves multiple times. I know this first hand. I too wear hearing aids. My first day of life quality allowed me to determine a direction of sound. Tears of joy ran down my face as a loud noise occurred and I turned in the direction it came from. I had lost that ability years ago. Something so common and simple to most was a miracle to me. My adult children enjoy visiting more now, especially since they do not have to yell over my loud television. What profession would or could be more awesome than being the person that brings all of that back for others? No, I am not a miracle worker, I am just me utilizing the best hearing devices on the market today in order to help you regain all the magic that only sound can bring. Thank you.

Diane Porter

Diane Porter
Patient Care Coordinator

As a result of my interest in helping people, I began in the field of audiology. This led to making a positive difference in people's everyday lives. Therefore, serving 18 years as a Patient Care Coordinator in the hearing industry has been a rewarding experience. At the end of the day, a smiling face, due to better hearing, makes it all worthwhile. Originally from Ohio, I am now enjoying the sun, the beach and the outdoors! My true passion is my family.

Remember, we must hear well to appreciate all the good things in life!
